About Us

Casting for Kids was created to help children who are fighting cancer and for pediatric cancer research at the nationally recognized American Family Children’s Hospital and the  Carbone Cancer Center. As a 100% volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are driven by our passion for children, cancer advocacy, community, and fishing.

About the event

Our unique, one-of-a-kind event features a fun day of fishing in a Catch-Photo-Release Multi-Species Tournament on Lakes Kegonsa, Monona, Mendota, and Waubesa. The day will include a Happy Hour, live music, dinner, bucket raffles, a silent auction, a live auction, and a boat raffle. One lucky participant will win a brand-new Alumacraft boat!

Mission Statement

Casting for Kids was created to help children fighting cancer and for pediatric cancer research at the nationally recognized American Family Children’s Hospital and the Carbone Cancer Center in Madison, WI. Now in our ninth year, we are proud to announce that we have raised over $1,200,000. Please help our event by attending or donating to Casting for Kids.

"Casting for Kids is funding the research that brings new treatments to our children with cancer at American Family Children’s Hospital. We are incredibly grateful for how this event brings our community together, and most importantly, supports our pediatric cancer patients and their families."
